Decision Risk Pattern Index

DRPI: From failure analysis to predictive alerts.

What is the Decision Risk Pattern Index (DRPI)?

The Decision Risk Pattern Index (DRPI™) is how Justice Beacon Solutions identifies problems before something goes wrong. DRPI tracks decision patterns, not just individual events. This is not risk assessment of people (that already exists). This is risk assessment of decisions and decision environments. We don't predict behavior. We detect failing decision environments.

Who Uses This

Governance officers, compliance leads, oversight bodies, agency leadership

When

Ongoing, continuous monitoring

Approach

Predictive: detects patterns before failure

Primary Output

Risk pattern reports, escalation alerts, governance condition inventories

How DRPI Works

Step 1: Decision Event Capture

Starts with raw events: missed check-ins, late classifications, override decisions, delayed responses, staff handoff gaps. These are inputs, not conclusions.

Step 2: Pattern Identification

Looks for repetition (same issue recurring), clustering (same time, place, staff, or shift), escalation (getting worse over time), and cross-system linkage (custody + medical + supervision). Three missed wellness checks in the same housing unit on the same shift is not three separate events. It is one pattern forming.

Step 3: Risk Scoring

Assigns a structured score to each pattern. DRPI Score = (Frequency x Severity x Exposure x Delay) / Intervention Rate. Frequency: how often it repeats. Severity: how serious it is. Exposure: how many people or systems are affected. Delay: time between signal and response. Intervention Rate: how often it gets corrected. High score = failure is forming.

Step 4: Action Levels

Turns scores into action. DRPI 1 (Low): Monitor. DRPI 2 (Moderate): Supervisor review. DRPI 3 (High): Command staff alert. DRPI 4 (Critical): Immediate intervention.

How DRPI Fits the System

DCRR™ (Foundation, Micro Level)

Reconstructs one incident. Identifies decision failures step-by-step. Produces clean, structured data. DRPI needs this to understand: “What exactly went wrong?”

CEGR™ (Bridge, System Level)

Connects multiple events across systems. Reveals patterns across custody, medical, courts, supervision. DRPI needs this to understand: “Is this happening elsewhere too?”

DRPI™ (Top Layer, Predictive Level)

Detects repetition of those failures. Scores risk of future incidents. Triggers intervention before next incident. DRPI answers: “Where is this going to happen next?”

DCRR feeds DRPI. CEGR strengthens DRPI. DRPI operationalizes both into prediction.

Deliverables

  • DRPI Scorecard
  • Pattern Cluster Analysis
  • Trend Analysis
  • Forward Risk Indicators
  • Intervention Priority Map
  • Cross-System Risk Visibility Report

What DRPI Is Not

DRPI is not designed for DCRR or CEGR. It sits on top of both. If you skip DCRR or CEGR, you will get weak signals, miss important context, and lose defensibility.

Discuss DRPI Implementation

DRPI builds on DCRR and CEGR data. Contact JBS to discuss how predictive risk detection fits your governance needs.
